Aleksandr Frantskevich was transferred to a different penal colone after his trial for “infringement of prison administration’s requests”. He was transferred there at the beginning of October. As a result of the trial, a year was added to his 17-year sentence.
On 26th of October the court rejected Sergey Romanov’s appeal to remove additional 2 years in prison which had been given to him for “infringement of prison administration’s requests”, article 411 of Criminal Code. He had been sentenced earlier in September on accusations from penal colony number 9. At the moment, his entire sentence is 22 years and 11 months in prison.
This is the second time Romanov is sentenced with article 411. In March 2023, he was sentenced to additional 11 months in prison.
After the trial, he was transferred to penal colony number 11 in Volkovysk. We know that recently the anarchist had some health issues but the care promised by the prison administration was postponed because of the trial and the transfer to jail during it.
In December, we learnt that Akihiro Gaevskiy-Hanada war transferred to a high-security prison in the summer. Before that he spent 4 months in a cell in a penal colony.
Akihiro is sentenced to 15 years and 9 months in prison.
Antifascist Tamaz Pipia was transferred to penal colony number 20 after the court rejected his appeal against the verdict on article 411. The court of Novopolotsk added 1,5 years to his 5 year sentence.
While in his previous colony, Tamaz had received 9
Tamaz was convicted allegedly for malicious disobedience: while in the colony, he was given no less than 9 penalties, placed in a solitary confinement and transferred to a cell.
In November anarchist Dmitry Dubovsky was placed in punishment isolation cell for at least 15 days. What was the reason for the punishment is unknown.
Dmitry Dubovsky was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment in the “Black Flag” case. Later, he was tried again for the events of 2009-2010, which finally sentenced the anarchist to 20 years in a reinforced penal colony.
Throughout his imprisonment, Dubovsky, as well as other anarcho-partisans, was constantly under pressure: placement in a punishment cell, transfer to a cell and prison regime, additional terms allegedly for disobeying the prison administration.
In December a new book by Mikalai Dziadok “Truth Without Compromise” came out. It includes selected essays from Mikalaj’s blog, which he wrote between his two prison terms. Mikalaj wrote a lot about anarchism, resistance, state violence, new society – in simple words and trying to interest ordinary people with his ideas and reflections. This collection includes the most relevant texts, including an analysis of the 2020 events in Belarus, the causes of police sadism, and reflections on political violence.
The essays are in Belarusian and Russian. The book can already be ordered online at Sabotage Distro, as well as at bookstores in Warsaw (Knigauka, Reforum Space Warsaw) and Vilnius (Gartajka, The Bookest, Rewind store, Reforum Space Vilnius).
Mikalaj has been in prison for more than 4 years. His term was supposed to end in April next year, but the prison administration opened a new case against him for disobeying the administration’s demands (article 411).
