Piotr Ryabov sentenced to 6 days of arrest in Belarus

Today, the Baranavichi City Court sentenced Piotr Ryabov to 6 days of arrest under the articles “Minor hooliganism” (Article 17.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus) and “Distribution of extremist materials (Article 17.11). The real reason is obvious: a lecture about an anarchist movement in Baranovichi.

Let us recall, Ryabov was detained last night at a train station in Baranovichi. He had to go to Moscow, where he already had a planned event.

Piotr Ryabov is a well-known anarchist from Russia, professor of the philosophy department of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, Ph.D. in Philosophy, specializing in the history of anarchist thought. A day before his lecture was attacked by riot cops in Grodno.
