In January, Mikita Jemialjanau received another year of his “term” under Article 411 (“malicious disobedience to the demands of the prison administration”). Mikita was detained in 2019 for a series of solidarity actions with the anarchist Dmitry Polienko, who was detained at that time. In 2020, he was sentenced to 4 years in prison, the term was supposed to end in October last year.
The “trial” of Tatiana Frantskevich, the mother of political prisoner Aliaksandr Frantskevich, has begun. She was detained along with her sister Natalia Labatsevich on July 19, 2024. Both were accused of assisting extremist activity (Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code), and sentenced to 3 years and 3 months and 3 years in prison, respectively. Aliaksandr himself was tried again under Article 411 (the verdict is unknown).
Sad “anniversaries”. In February, anarchists in the “Pramen” case spent 1,300 days in captivity. Anarchists and participants of the Minsk initiative Food not Bombs Alexander Belov and Evgeny Rubashko were detained on July 29, 2021, and Artem D. Solovey – a few days later. Initially, they were accused of participating in protests, and then allegedly of participating in the anarchist media “Pramen”, which after the arrest of the guys was recognized as an extremist group. The trial was held behind closed doors, the anarchists were sentenced to 5 years in prison.
And in March, anarcho-partisans spent 1,600 days in captivity. Anarchists Dzmitry Dubouski, Ihar Alinevich, Siarhei Ramanau and Dzmitry Rezanovich were detained on the night of October 28-29, 2020. They were charged under several articles for possession of weapons, arson of cars, the traffic police building and the state forensic examination committee.
Initially, the court sentenced the anarchists to 18 to 20 years in prison, but later Dmitry Dubovsky was given an additional sentence for the 2010 case, and Dzmitry Rezanovich and Siarhei Ramanau were convicted under Article 411 of the Criminal Code to additional terms.
