A Czech theatre troup will show the play “Going to Magadan: Don’t Believe, Don’t Be Afraid, Don’t Ask” based on Igor Oliniewicz’s book in Warsaw on 13 and 14 November.
The play is based on the anarchist’s prison diaries, which he kept in 2010-2011 and subsequently published in book format.
In the book, he describes the practices of the Belarusian prison system, based on severe physical violence, but primarily on psychological pressure, which makes prisoners doubt themselves and lose trust in their loved ones.
In December 2021, Igor Olinevich, along with his comrades Dmitri Dubrovsky, Sergei Romanov, and Dmitri Rezanovich, was again sentenced to 20 years in prison for terrorism.
The play will be performed in Czech with Polish and Belarusian subtitles.
