Roman Bogdan

Roman Bogdan is an antifascist from Brest. Arrested on April 1, 2015 on suspition of participation in the fight with neo-nazis that took place on May 8, 2013. Together with Dzmitry Stsyashenka they were charged with aggravated bodily harm and face up to 10 years in prison. In March 2014 Dzmitry Zvan’ko was sentenced on this case to 5 years of prison.

The court hearings started on June 3.

Dzmitry Stsyashenka

Dzmitry Stsyashenka – antifascist from Brest. Detained on October 4, 2013 on suspicion of the fight with the ultra-rights, that had happened on May 8, 2013. Allegedly, Dzmitry was wanted since then. He is accused of another count of a fight with neonazis – the investigation claims that he threatened with a knife some right-winger this summer.

On March 3 he was sentenced to 4 years of custodial restraint. In 2014 had his term reduced by one year due to amnesty.

In April 2015 the case of the fight with neonazis was reopened and Dzmitry was charged with it again. He was transfered back to Brest to await trial.

Dzmitry Zvan’ko

Dzmitry Zvan’ko – antifascist from Brest. Detained on May 9, 2013 among 5 other antifascists a a suspect of the fight with the ultra-rights, that had happened the day before. In custody the detained were psychologically and physically pressed, though Dzmitry was the only one who made it public and filed a complaint to the prosecutor about that. On May 19 four detained were set free, Dzmitry was accused of malicious group hooliganism and serious bodily assault (up to 10 years of prison). In the beginning of July Dzmitry was set free, but was arrested again at the end of November and is now waiting for the trial.

On March 18th he was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years of prison. He has paid off about 4 000 euro damage to the nazi to be granted the amnesty which has reduced his term by one year.

Artsiom Prakapenka

arcem_prakapenkaDetained on January 17, 2011 on suspicion of the attack on the KGB headquarters in Bobruisk launched on October 14, 2010 in solidarity with the anarchists arrested in September 2010.

Artsiom comes from Grodno and studied in Bobruisk. On May 18, 2011 was found guilty of intentional destruction of property and sentenced to 7 years of colony with reinforced regime.

Jauhen Vas’kovich*

Detained on January 17, 2011 on suspicion of the attack on the KGB headquarters in Bobruisk launched on October 14, 2010 in solidarity with the anarchists arrested in September 2010.

Jauhen was a member of a Belarusian Christian Democracy party and a local [Bobruisk] cell of the Youth Front [nationalist orthodox organisation], he also wrote for the newspaper “Bobruiski courier”.

Earlier was detained after the demonstration at the House of Government on December 19, 2010 and spent 12 days in a detention facility. In his interview after the administrative arrest he stated: “I don’t see any peculiar changes in society since I was set free. As for me, I can tell that I grow angrier about the regime, these fascists. I think one should act the way they act against us. We have to trust and count only on ourselves…”

On January 11, 2011 he was interrogated by KGB and admitted that he was going to participate in non-violent action hereinafter.

On the day before arrest Jauhen took part in the solidarity action with the political prisoners in Mogilev.

In 2010 he ran as a candidate to Bobruisk municipality from Belarusian Christian Democracy. Was a correspondence student in Mogilev State University.

On May 18, 2011 was found guilty of intentional destruction of property and sentenced to 7 years of colony with reinforced regime.
